Hindustan Salts Limited (HSL), a Government of India Enterprise, is joining forces with the National Federation of Farmers’ Procurement (NACOF) and its associate RKJ Agro and Foods Private Ltd., to lead a transformative initiative aimed at delivering high-quality salt to every household, commencing in Uttar Pradesh. This endeavor is at the heart of the Government of India’s ‘Micronutrient Initiative’ and ‘Local for Vocal’ campaign, which envisions making superior indigenous products accessible to the people of India and beyond.
The partners share a profound belief that high-quality salt, fortified with iodine and 84 rare minerals, holds the potential to significantly improve the health and well-being of communities.

Hindustan Salts Limited exclusively produces salt from fresh rainwater in Sambhar Lake, located in Rajasthan. Sambhar salt is the only salt in India that naturally contains iodine and 84 rare mineral elements, which are used for medicinal purposes. Additionally, black salt made from Sambhar salt serves as a natural laxative with various health benefits. Most notably, the company’s salt is anti-cancer and enhances the functioning of the nervous system. Sambhar salt meets all the standards set by the Government of India and boasts a pH (alkalinity) between 9.00 to 9.50. In the pursuit of deep penetration and the availability of salt to the masses, NACOF and its associate RKJ Agro and Foods Private Ltd. have partnered with UP-PCF (Uttar Pradesh Public Cooperative Federation), which possesses a robust network and infrastructure critical to achieving the campaign’s objectives. PCF will spearhead the distribution of salt from established agricultural procurement centers across various districts of Uttar Pradesh, with plans to extend the campaign’s reach beyond the state, solidifying its reputation as the best in its category with unmatched quality standards.
