Heirs of Hairs
It runs in our genes finding its beginning from my grandfather in the State of Rajasthan dating back to some 75 years ago and the legacy continues with me Vivek Bhatia practising the same art of hair cutting.
I having a keen liking towards the profession since I was in 5th Standard and curious as a cat to know the techniques and skills, started my journey as a trainee hair dresser under my grandfather.
Latter having completed my graduation in my home town I came down to Mumbai in 2004 to start the era of my professional career under the guiding hands of my paternal uncle and celebrity stylist Shri Harish Bhatia ji who is the greatest mentor for me being an international hair stylist and having achieved feats in blind folded hair cutting (BIG BOSS SALON, Mumbai)
As I started to reside in Mumbai I fell in love with the culture and trend of fast paced life and here is where i learnt that hair cutting was beyond just trimming hair, it was a complete Art in itself just like portraiting where one can bring out the best looks of any person and that is when I decided to excel in this Art.
As I begun my journey I was blessed with opportunities to work with best in the industry like L’oreal, Wella and many more. To test my abilities and skills i entered into the STREAKs company Hair Cutting Competition and achieved a bronze medal which uplifeted my confidence.
Being more enthusiastic about the profession I started to gain knowledge about Hair Texture, Face Structure, New Techinique, Special Use of Colour palletes for Hair, Different patterns and Hair Styles.
Alongwith this I competed in AIBHA’s All India Hair Cutting Competition in 2014 and bagged the Gold Medal and got qualified for the Asia Cup which was to be held in Malaysia.
Having gained the above knowledge I was jolted back during lockdown but it proved a steping stone to my sucess as I was now convinced of starting my new journey of having my own salon and I started my own individual path on 6th January, 2021 under the name “DAPPER” in Borivali West, Mumbai.
This individual path was full of challenges from the new generations wanting new ideas and trending styles and which only boosted my spirit to do more with the knowledge I had gained so far and to put it to best use. During the journey I was fortunate to get opportunities to do hair styling and makeup for many celebrities and TV Artists.
My path so far has been full of experiences which have only paved my way to sucess and new trends in the vast field of hair cutting which include Fadded Hair Cuts being the latest to start with different types of Fadded , Mid Fade, Low Fade and Tapper Fade.
In my opinion hair cutting as perceived by majority of people is not mererly trimming but it develops the the hidden personality of a person and for which reason I always tell my students that we first need to understand the quality of hair, their texture and face structure of the person and accordinglyy decide which hair style will be best suited.
As a hair stylist I feel when you put your knowledge and your craftmanship to proper use it can result in miracles where any person can be given a special look which not only enhances the look but also uplifts the confidence and spirir and helps them achieve new heights.
