Jitendra EV is excited to announce the adoption of the IS17017 (Part 2 / Sec 7) standard also known as LECCS (Light Electric Combined Charging System) connector for its electric scooter JMT 1000 SW. LECCS is a charging connector designed and engineered in India specifically for light electric vehicles (LEVs). This will provide Jitendra EV customers with access to Ather’s vast and reliable fast-charging network, significantly advancing the future of electric mobility in India.
With the adoption of LECCS, Jitendra EV’s JMT 1000 SW model will be utilizing the fast-charging stations on AtherGrid. The JMT 1000 SW is a versatile electric scooter designed for both business and personal use. It features a Gross vehicle weight of 255 kg and a payload capacity of 150 kg. The scooter is equipped with tubeless tyres on alloy wheels, front disc brakes, and rear drum brakes, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride. With a ground clearance of 175 mm, the JMT 1000 SW is built to handle various terrains with ease.
The JMT 1000 SW is powered by The Energy Company battery, delivering an impressive range of 100 km per charge and a full charge in 50 minutes. The scooter also includes a comprehensive cluster display with features such as distance to empty, fault finding indication, thermal propagation alert, battery percentage indication, and time to charge.
Additional features of the JMT 1000 SW include a USB charging port, three-speed modes, reverse gear. These advanced features make the JMT 1000 SW a practical and secure choice for users requiring reliable and efficient charging options.
Currently, only the JMT 1000 SW is available with Ather’s fast-charging network. However, Jitendra EV plans to integrate this solution with additional models in the future, with the aim of enhancing the overall EV ownership experience by offering seamless and efficient charging solutions.
The effectiveness for the same has been validated through a successful pilot program conducted in Goa, where Jitendra EV tested this advanced charging solution in real-world conditions. Following this success, Jitendra EV is now moving forward with commercial production, ensuring that customers nationwide can benefit from this cutting-edge technology.
“We are thrilled to introduce the JMT 1000 SW to AtherGrid’s network, reinforcing our commitment to providing superior charging solutions for our customers,” said Samkit Shah, Co-Founder and CEO of Jitendra EV. “This partnership not only enhances our charging infrastructure but also supports our vision of making electric vehicles more accessible and user-friendly.”
Speaking on the occasion, Aravind Prasad, Head of Charging Infrastructure at Ather Energy said, “It is great to see Indian companies adopt the indigenously developed LECCS fast charging standard. Since the very beginning, at Ather, we have focused on building a fast charging ecosystem that is interoperable and scalable. We are glad to see Jitendra EV adopt this standard which will provide them access to Ather’s fast charging network”
The adoption of LECCS for the JMT 1000 SW is a significant milestone in India’s journey toward a sustainable and electric future. As Jitendra EV continues to expand its offerings, this step will play a crucial role in enhancing the accessibility and convenience of electric mobility across the country.
