Preparation for monsoon illnesses in India is of utmost importance, given the numerous health challenges that accompany the rainy season. By taking necessary measures and staying informed, individuals can enhance their preparedness and minimize the impact of monsoon-related illnesses. Dr. Honey Savla, an Internal Medicine Specialist at Wockhardt Hospitals, Mumbai Central shared a comprehensive guide encompassing essential measures for safeguarding personal well-being and promoting optimal health amidst the monsoon season.
Stay Informed: To effectively prepare for the monsoon season, it is crucial to stay updated with weather forecasts and monsoon-related alerts issued by local authorities and meteorological departments. This information will enable individuals to plan ahead and take necessary precautions to safeguard their health and well-being.
Prevent Waterborne Diseases: Waterborne illnesses such as cholera, typhoid, and hepatitis A are prevalent during the monsoon. To mitigate the risk of contracting these diseases, it is essential to consume clean and safe water. Boiled or purified water should be used for drinking and cooking purposes. Additionally, it is advisable to avoid consuming raw or street food and instead opt for freshly cooked meals.
Maintain Hygiene: Practicing good hygiene habits is crucial to prevent the spread of infections during the monsoon. Regularly washing hands with soap and clean water, especially before eating or preparing food, is highly recommended. In instances where soap is not readily available, using hand sanitizers can be an effective alternative. It is also important to keep surroundings clean and dispose of waste properly to maintain a hygienic environment.
Avoid Mosquito-borne Diseases: Mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria, and chikungunya are prevalent during the monsoon. Preventive measures should be taken to minimize mosquito breeding grounds, such as avoiding stagnant water in and around living areas. Additionally, using mosquito repellents, wearing protective clothing, and sleeping under mosquito nets can significantly reduce the risk of mosquito-borne illnesses.
Boost Immunity: A strong immune system plays a vital role in combating infections. Consuming a balanced diet rich in fruits, vegetables, and whole grains is essential for bolstering immunity. Staying hydrated, getting adequate sleep, engaging in regular exercise, and managing stress levels are also beneficial in maintaining a healthy immune system.
Vaccinations: Ensuring that vaccinations are up to date is crucial for protecting against specific diseases during the monsoon season. Tetanus, hepatitis, and influenza are among the diseases that can be prevented through immunization. It is advisable to consult with a healthcare professional to determine if additional vaccinations are recommended based on one’s location and health conditions.
Be Cautious with Food: Food contamination is common during the monsoon, making it important to exercise caution. Consuming freshly cooked, hot meals is recommended, while raw or uncooked foods, salads, and cut fruits from street vendors should be avoided. Thoroughly washing fruits and vegetables before consumption is also advised.
Prepare a First Aid Kit: Keeping a well-stocked first aid kit at home is essential for handling emergencies during the monsoon. The kit should include basic medications for fever, cough, cold, pain, as well as any specific prescriptions. Additionally, items such as bandages, antiseptics, a thermometer, and oral rehydration salts (ORS) can be invaluable in addressing health-related issues.
Seek Medical Help: In the event of experiencing any symptoms of illness, seeking medical attention promptly is crucial. Timely intervention can prevent complications and ensure a swift recovery. It is important not to delay treatment and to follow medical advice diligently.

Abhilash Chaudhary Goes Beast Mode for Sikandar and Draws Inspiration from Salman Khan

When it comes to action, Abhilash Chaudhary isn’t just throwing punches—he’s putting in the work, the sweat, and the grind to make every sequence in Salman Khan’s Sikandar look effortless yet electrifying. But here’s the real deal—action isn’t just about looking gym-fit. It’s about functional fitness, agility, and sheer endurance, something Abhilash dedicated himself to mastering.
For Sikandar, Abhilash had to level up his action game aggressively. Talking about his prep, he says, “Action is like choreography. Every move has to be precise, seamless and hit the mark every single time. Until the action director is satisfied, we keep going—multiple retakes, zero shortcuts”
To make sure he was physically and mentally invincible, Abhilash followed an intense training routine. His go-to drill? Sprinting. Every single day, he pushed his limits by running 100m sprints—six times in a row “It wasn’t just about muscle strength; it was about explosive energy, endurance, and reaction time. Action scenes demand stamina, agility, and control—sprinting gave me all that. Plus, it built my mental grit. When you push through exhaustion, that’s when you grow stronger” he shares
And here’s where it gets even crazier—monsoon season didn’t slow him down. While most would skip training in heavy rains, Abhilash kept sprinting through the downpour, determined to stay in peak condition.
If there was one person who kept Abhilash motivated through the grueling prep, it was Salman Khan himself. Watching the megastar’s unwavering dedication on set pushed Abhilash to keep going, no matter how tough it got “Salman sir is the epitome of discipline and resilience. He once hurt his ribs during the shoot, but that didn’t stop him. He still showed up every day, performing intense action sequences and even dancing like nothing happened. Seeing that level of commitment made me realize—no excuses, just hard work. It was truly inspiring” Abhilash recalls
Performing high-intensity action sequences comes with risks, but for Abhilash, the goal was to execute stunts with absolute perfection—without injury “Stunts aren’t about brute force. They demand control, flow, and technique. Every movement needs to be precise, calculated, and safe so that it looks raw and real on screen” Abhilash explains

The Owners view
The restaurant, ‘Shweta’s Taatbhar Potbhar, was born from a heartfelt journey. It all started when Shweta Pangam, whose passion for cooking and serving people is boundless, prepared food during the COVID-19 lockdown.

A friend of the family reached out for home-cooked meals, and ‘Shweta as always eager to help, began preparing and delivering food to them.
The response was incredible; they loved the flavors so much that they recommended us to their family and friends. Word of mouth spread, and before long, we found ourselves fulfilling multiple orders daily.

Over the next 1.5 years, as our client base kept growing, they realized it was time to take this passion to the next level, and thus, our restaurant was established.
One of the secrets to our popularity is that all our masalas and food preparations are homemade, crafted with the same love and authenticity that my mother brings to every meal.

Shweta and Suhas Pangam, now at the helm, take pride in offering a unique taste of traditional Malvani cuisine.
Together, they manage every aspect of this family-run restaurant, ensuring that each guest feels the warmth of home in every bite.
