Barun Chanda, a veteran of Indian parallel cinema, brings a magnetic presence to Rerouting with his nuanced and restrained performance. Known for his iconic role in Satyajit Ray’s Seemabaddha, Chanda lends gravitas and emotional depth to the film’s complex psychological landscape. 

Set throughout a single night, the film explores a seemingly incidental encounter between two souls tethered to their inner turmoil. As time unfolds in this nocturnal tapestry, layers of self-deception, buried trauma, and emotional inertia are peeled away, revealing a rare opportunity — the chance to re-navigate not just the night, but the course of their lives.

The film had the honour of opening the 22nd Kalpanirjhar International Short Fiction Film Festival at Max Mueller Bhavan, marking a moment of pride for independent Indian cinema. It was also presented at a Special Screening at the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute (SRFTI) and featured at the Creative Arts Academy, TCA Film Society further affirming its place within the canon of thought-provoking, high-concept short fiction.

Kankana Chakraborty’s vision is not merely to entertain, but to evoke — to gently unmoor the viewer from familiar narratives and anchor them into an introspective voyage. Re-routing is a film that lingers, echoing long after its final frame, reminding us that even in the most suffocating corridors of the human condition, there exists the possibility of change—of—rerouting.

National, 17 November, 2023: In an enthralling homage to the vibrant culture of Bihar and Jharkhand, Tata Tea Agni Leaf, one of the leading tea brands introduces special festive packs and a special musical video celebrating the festivities.

The four-pack collection captures the customs and emotions unique to each day. Each day of the festival is depicted in a different style of Madhubani Art, the cherished art-form of the Bihar.

The first pack, designed in the Godhna Style of Madhubani, uses black ink to depict the ‘Nahaay Khaay,’ the first day of the festival. The second pack illustrates the second day of ‘Kharna’, showcasing the preparation of the traditional prasad in the Kachni style of Madhubani, using monochrome shades. The third pack, dedicated to ‘Sandhya Arghya,’ captures the festive spirit as people gather at the ghats to offer Arghya to the setting sun in the Kohbar style of Madhubani. The fourth pack, curated in the Bharni style of Madhubani, portrays the final day of the festival- ‘Usha Arghya’ where devotees offer prayers and Arghya to the rising sun as they conclude their sacred fast.

To add more flavour to the Chhath festivities, Tata Tea Agni Leaf has also launched a music video- ‘Aava Mil Ke Chhath Manayi’. Situated in the heart of the fast-growing city of Ahmedabad, the Central Campus of Ahmedabad University is a thriving hub of biodiversity and sustainable innovation. Nestled within an urban environment, the campus stands as an oasis of greenery, home to a rich variety of flora and fauna, including 64 bird species, 22 butterfly species, and a host of amphibians and mammals. In recognition of Ahmedabad University’s focus on sustainable practices and climate action, the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has conferred the prestigious PLATINUM RATING while certifying it as a IGBC Green Campus.

This recognition places Ahmedabad University among a select group of universities setting benchmarks for sustainability and climate action. The PLATINUM RATING is the highest accolade conferred by the Indian Green Building Council, acknowledging campuses that demonstrate exceptional sustainability standards. This recognition reflects Ahmedabad University’s focus on sustainability, which is centered on reducing energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions and promoting eco-friendly practices across the campus.

Ahmedabad University’s sustainability initiatives include the installation of 615 kW of rooftop solar plant, generating 2.5 MW of solar power daily, and leading to savings of INR 9 million annually in electricity costs. The Arboretum project, initiated in 2018, continues to enhance the city’s vital ‘green lungs’ with over 800 trees added to bring the total to more than 1500 trees in the Central Campus.

The University is committed to creating a zero-discharge campus. As part of this effort, all wastewater generated in the Central Campus is treated in a state-of-the-art 200 KLD Sewage Treatment Plant. The recycled water is then reused for the HVAC system, flushing, and irrigation for campus gardens. In addition, the University’s water management strategy includes advanced rainwater harvesting systems, featuring interconnected recharge wells.

These wells are linked to an amphitheatre that also functions as a 2-lakh-litre holding tank for excess water during heavy rainfall, ensuring optimal water conservation. Collectively, these initiatives significantly reduce the campus’s dependence on municipal water and contribute to sustainable resource management

MTR Foods, a pioneer in packaged foods, has created a water conservation capacity of 40 million liters in Karnataka, in collaboration with Myrada, a non-governmental organization, operating in underdeveloped and drought-prone regions. The initiative will improve water storage capacity and its supply in the local community through building and renovating village ponds to harvest rainwater and recharge groundwater. MTR Foods is investing Rs. 10.6 million towards this project to significantly benefit the region.  

The project is situated in and around Bommasandra area. Improving local supply of water, created rooftop harvesting system and recharge pits in 3 schools in the region. Water ponds have been renovated and constructed in the region. Additionally, a new tank/ pond construction has been done in Anekal. The capacity created will directly impact around 5000 lives and households and is expected to successfully replenish 40 million liters of water in the near future. This will positively influence the regional ecosystem and benefit the local community.  

Commenting on the same, Sunay Bhasin, Chief Commercial Officer, MTR Foods Pvt. Ltd.  said, “We believe it’s important to consistently support our community. The water conservation project in Karnataka is a part of our sustainability initiatives and aims to help improve water access in the area. It will benefit local households and the respective schools with more water now being made available. We hope that this improved access will enable better quality of life in the region and positively impact the ecosystem.” 

Previously, on the occasion of World Environment Day 2023, MTR Foods reinforced its commitment towards the environment by initiating a comprehensive cleanup drive at Madiwala Lake. The initiative aimed not only to clean the area but also to raise awareness about responsible waste management and the importance of preserving natural water bodies.
