GD Goenka University’s School of Management successfully organised the 7th International Conference on Recent Advances in Technology, Innovation & Sustainability (ICON 2025) from March 27-28, 2025.

The two-day conference witnessed the convergence of distinguished academicians, industry experts, and researchers to discuss emerging trends and advancements in these critical domains.

The inaugural session was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Prof. (Dr.) Satyabhusan Dash, Professor of Marketing and Chairperson of The Centre for Marketing in Emerging Economies (CMEE) at IIM Lucknow; Mr. Ankur Verma, Associate Director at PwC; and Mr. Rohit Dubey, Vice President of Corporate Communications & Advocacy at Jio. GD Goenka World School and GD Goenka High School Host”Be Safe, Be Smart – Road Safety Program”

GD Goenka World School and GD Goenka High School are delighted to announce the successful hosting of “Be Safe, Be Smart – Road Safety Programme,” an initiative bythe BMW India Foundation in collaboration with ASSOCHAM.

The programme  aimed at children aged 5 to 8, with an objective of enhancing the significance of road safety from a young age.

The “Be Safe, Be Smart” campaign is a remarkable endeavour in road safety education, developed to deliver an experiential learning environment for children at their most impressionable age. The programme’s goals are to nurture children into responsible and law-abiding citizens and engage them as Road Safety Ambassadors who can positively influence their parents and other adults.

”Road safety is a pressing issue in India, and we are pleased to have been part of the Be Safe, Be Smart– Road Safety Programme to enhance young students’ awareness of road safety. The campaign has received national recognition and an honourable mention from the Government of India’s National Award for Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) 2020. This award highlights its substantial role in improving road safety, which is a national priority.

The 120-minute program was executed in two phases:

● Phase 1: In-Class Session – Students comprehended the importance of road safety through audio-visual aids under the direction of dynamic educators. This session also included a pre-test to gauge their existing knowledge on the subject.

● Phase 2: Simulation-Based Learning – Students engaged in hands-on learning by driving specially designed BMW vehicles in an outdoor simulated environment

Furthermore, a post-campaign assessment was executed to evaluate the campaign’s impact on students. Via this programme, the BMW India Foundation seeks to empower young minds with essential knowledge and exposure to real-life challenges in a simulated environment.

HPS Begumpet announces the Grand Finale of its Centenary year celebration

The Hyderabad Public School (HPS), Begumpet, has officially unveiled its plans for the Grand Finale of its highly successful year long centenary celebrations. The school today announced an investment of 17.5 cr for Multi sport facility and 10 cr for an innovation Centre (similar to T Hub) to foster entrepreneurship.

The finale that will be inaugurated on the 19th of December will be held between the 24th-27th December, 2023. The finale celebration which comprises of more than 50+ activities curated for the HPS fraternity comprising of students, staff, alumni & parents. HPS alumni – Satya Nadella, Shantanu Narayan, Prem Watsa and many others expected to be part of 50 events for centenary finale between 24-27th Dec 2023.

The four-day Grand Finale will feature a monumental fundraising initiative, aiming to raise INR 17.5 crore for a state-of-the-art green field Multi-utility sports center designed by renowned architect Hafeez Contractor. This is part of the school’s audacious Vision 2050 to raising INR 150 Crores for monumental development plans. The school is one of the few schools in the country that provides donors 80G Tax exemptions and has an FCRA license to accept foreign donations. It is actively promoting Educational Philanthropy and the concept of giving back, that is very popular in the western world in most legacy not for profit institutions.

The school is in the process of constructing an Innovation Centre projected at a cost of 10 cr, similar to T-Hub to foster entrepreneurship and innovation culture at school level itself, generously funded by HPS Alumni. Spanning 15,000 square feet, this unique facility stands as a pioneering project, making HPS the sole school in the country to boast such an achievement. The faculty will actively encourage hands-on learning experiences in robotics and AI within this center.

The Grand Finale week will be kickstarted with an HPS Centenary Dinner, an exclusive limited seating Fund Raising Dinner, on the 24th of December, 2023 at the Taj Falaknuma Palace. The dinner is set to be attended by distinguished guests and alumni from around the world with the purpose of raising funds for the HPS Centenary Sports Center.

The ensuing three days, i.e. 25th to 27th of December will see the entire HPS universe of over 15,000 people culminate in the campus and celebrate 100 years of the school. This is expected to be perhaps the largest celebrations held by any school in India. With a purpose to celebrate its centenary, exchange ideas, share knowledge, network and strengthen the HPS family further, a series of events across the campus are planned. IB students in India receive International Baccalaureate results

This past weekend, 6,083 students in India and 202,103 students worldwide received their Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) results New Delhi, 7 July 2025 — 202,103 students worldwide received their Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) results from the May 2025 examination session.

This marks a 4.8% increase in the number of students receiving DP and CP results. The IB celebrates the achievements of all students who have reached this important milestone. Over the course of the two-year DP and CP journey, they have developed the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to thrive in a changing world and contribute meaningfully to their communities. Today’s IB graduates join a community of more than 2.7 million lifelong learners across 157 countries worldwide where the DP and CP are offered.

The global average DP score for the May 2025 session is 30.58 points. Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the International Baccalaureate, congratulated all the Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme students on reaching this important achievement. “I’m inspired by the dedication, resilience, and compassion shown by IB students during such a complex time in the world. As IB graduates move forward—into higher education, careers, or service to their communities—they carry with them the competencies, values, and global mindset needed to thrive and make a meaningful difference.

We are proud of who they are and the impact they’re already making.” The Diploma Programme (DP) offers students a globally respected, transformative education that prepares them for university and beyond. Its balanced, inquiry-based curriculum fosters academic achievement, critical thinking, language development, and personal growth.

Offered in over 795 IB World Schools across the Asia-Pacific region and 177 IB World Schools in India, the DP aligns with local education systems while nurturing global perspectives and ethical leadership. A series of DP curriculum alignment studies (2023) demonstrated that DP courses meet or exceed national or jurisdictional standards in South Korea, Singapore, Australia, Canada, Finland, France, the United States, Spain, Mexico and Brazil. The studies confirmed that the DP offers world-cl-ass courses, strong academic depth and breadth, and adaptability across education systems. Also, a global mindedness study (2021) found that DP and CP students in five countries across the world exhibited significantly higher global-mindedness levels benchmarked against their peers from a similar age group, highlighting the IB’s success in developing internationally minded and socially responsible graduates.

The Career-related Programme (CP) continues to grow across the Asia-Pacific region, with 82 IB World Schools currently offering the programme. In India alone, 41 IB World Schools have adopted the CP. The CP is designed for students aged 16–19 who want to combine academic studies with career-related learning. The CP develops key transferable skills such as confidence, responsibility, and a strong sense of purpose, offering students a practical and future-ready pathway. For the May 2025 examination session, DP and CP students completed all assessment components for each subject and the IB awarded grades using all components, coursework and examinations. The IB will be publishing an interim statistical bulletin in the next few weeks.

IIT-Madras Zanzibar campus opened

IIT-Madras on Monday became the first IIT to open an international campus with the inauguration of a campus in Zanzibar in Tanzania, an East African country.

IIT-Madras Zanzibar campus has 45 students in BS and MTech artificial intelligence and data science courses.

Zanzibar president Hussein Ali Mwinyi inaugurated the campus at Zanzibar in the presence of Tanzanian officials, Indian dignitaries, faculty and students.

JSW MG Motor India presents the MG Hector to BML Munjal University for upskilling students

Les Roches opens its campuses in Spain and Switzerland
